The music options on the iPhone have sure gotten exciting over the last few months. First Apple unveiled iTunes Match, then Spotify launched their app in the US, and now Turntable.fm has brought their amazing social music experience to the iPhone. Earlier this morning Turntable.fm released their new iPhone app that enables users to listen to Turntable.fm DJ Rooms wherever they go.

While the app is still only in “beta” it looks pretty good and functions nearly identical to the website. Users can join rooms and listen to tracks spun by up-to five different DJ’s or take control and play their own music for the clamoring masses.

Over the last three months Turntable.fm has grown to nearly 600,000 users and as a result they’ve been able to raise 7 million dollars in investments for the social music service. Traditionally, only persons who had a Facebook friend with a Turntable.fm account were able to use the service. This “friends-of-friends” network attested for nearly 10% of Facebook users being able to use the service. However, to go along with the new app, Turntable.fm also announced that they are opening the doors of their service for everyone in the USA. All users need to sign up is a Facebook account to connect to the service.

No word yet on a future Android app, but…oh wait, you probably don’t care about that anyway.
